Woodland management with the birds in mind!
The Forestry for Maine Birds (FFMB) approach integrates bird conservation into forest management and planning. You will learn how to:
* Improve habitat for priority forest birds and a variety of other wildlife species
* Take care of your woodland
* Work with other forest management goals
* Enhance the value and enjoyment of Maine woodlands for many generations to come
Our instructors will be Sally Stockwell, Director of Conservation at Maine Audubon and forester Logan Johnson with the Maine Tree Farm Program. Category 1 CFE credits are pending.
Hosted by Somerset County SWCD in partnership with Old Canada Road, Forest Stewards Guild, Maine Audubon, Maine Forest Service and Maine Woodland Owners - Upper Kennebec Valley Chapter.
The workshop is free, but advanced registration is required as space is limited.

From Skowhegan: Travel north on US-201 for 10.3 miles. The access drive for Robbins Hill Scenic Area is on the left, 0.5 miles past the junction with ME-43.
From Bingham: Travel south on US-201 for 12.2 miles. The access drive for Robbins Hill Scenic Area is on the right near the crest of the hill.
There are two parking lots at Robbins Hill. Please use the second lot, located at the end of the access drive at the top of the hill next to the picnic area and bathroom.
