Let's Go Birding

$30

with Doug Hitchcox

Calendar Next session starts Dec 5, 2018 at 8 am

Members: $20, Nonmembers: $30

Join us on a "leader's choice" van trip to birding locations in southern Maine. The exact destination hasn't been chosen yet but we will take advantage of recently reported rarities or hotspots that will make our morning most productive.

We will leave Gilsland Farm in Falmouth at 8 am and plan to be back around 11 am but we ask that people are flexible with the return time. We make stops for bathrooms as needed, which can add time to the trip, and sometimes the birding is too good to wrap up on time!

Calendar Next session starts Nov 27, 2018 at 1:30 pm

Next meeting: November 27, 1:30-3 pm

Our next Nature Tuesday is on November the 27, 1:30 -3:00 at Audubon in Falmouth.  (Nature Tuesday is the 2nd and 4th Tuesday of the month.)

We will be identifying winter trees. It is amazing the number of clues available to us without the presence of leaves.  The bark, the twigs, the buds, what’s growing on the tree.  I love this topic and we will do it rain or shine.

Bring your 10X and binoculars and dress for the weather.  We will do some inside learning and hopefully spend most of our time outdoors.

See you then, Davida 776-1876 and Kiya

New Year, New Birds

with Doug Hitchcox

Calendar Next session starts Jan 12, 2019 at 8 am

Kick off the year with a van trip to see as many FOY (First of Year) birds we can see. The route is yet to be determined but will likely explore the coast of York and Cumberland Counties or target lingering rarities.

We will leave Gilsland Farm in Falmouth at 8:00AM and plan to be back around 1:00PM but we ask that people are flexible with the return time. We make stops for bathrooms as needed, which can add time to the trip, and sometimes the birding is too good to wrap up on time!
