Fall Wildflower Walk at Coffin Wildflower Reservation

$25

with Heather McCargo

Calendar Next session starts Sep 29, 2018 at 10 am

The Coffin Wildflower Reservation in Woolwich is one of nine owned by the New England Wildflower Society. Hilly woods, a brook, and 1,256 feet of sandy shore and tidal marsh make up the 177-acre area, which borders lovely Merrymeeting Bay, well-known for its diversity of waterfowl. Hike the woodland trails along the east side of the bay to a large, old stand of bigtooth aspen and fascinating freshwater estuary plants that are limited to this rare habitat type.

This program is co-sponsored by the New England Wildflower Society, and will be led by Heather McCargo of Wild Seed Project.

Let's Go Birding

$30

with Doug Hitchcox

Calendar Next session starts Oct 20, 2018 at 8 am

Members: $20, Nonmembers: $30

Join us on a "leader's choice" van trip to birding locations in southern Maine. The exact destintion hasn't been chosen yet but we will take advantage of recently reported rarities or hotspots that will make our morning most porductive.

We will leave Gilsland Farm in Falmouth at 8:00AM and plan to be back around 11:00AM but we ask that people are flexible with the return time. We make stops for bathrooms as needed, which can add time to the trip, and something the birding is too good to wrap up on time!
