Experience the sights and sounds of marsh creatures under the full moon. Watch for black-crowned night heron along the bank or snowy egret flying back to a nearby island for the evening. We may even see a harbor seal or a muskrat playing in the water.

Join us for an evening of creativity and sculpture as we make unique wreaths out of seashells and sea glass. You can bring your own shells and sea glass or use ones we have collected. Participants will be guided through the process of how to create the base and add the shells to the wreath. Whether you are a Maine resident or just a visitor to our shores, you will be able to bring back the beauty of the salt marsh to display in your home for all to enjoy.

Experience the wildlife and plants of Scarborough Marsh as you paddle the Dunstan River. Paddling through the marsh, you will be exposed to its many inhabitants, from the snowy egret catching fish along the edge of the river to the mummichogs swimming in the water. A trained naturalist will show you the numerous marsh plants and even give you a taste of an edible one.

This tour is suitable for both novice and experienced paddlers.

Spring will be here before we know it and it will be time to clean up the marsh, beaches, Nature Center, and grounds for the new season. Join Maine Audubon, Friends of Scarborough Marsh, Maine Inland Fisheries and Wildlife, and the Scarborough community for a work day, and help make our corner of the earth a better place. Groups are welcome!

This year we are partnering with Project G.R.A.C.E. to collect food. Bring some nonperishable food or a store gift card to the clean up and help the human inhabitants of the marsh.

This event is Free! Registration is helpful for planning for food and supplies, but you are welcome to drop in.
