Fall Foliage 5k Fun Run at Fields Pond

Young children and their grown-ups are invited to spend an hour exploring nature together through stories, songs, art, and play. Each week will include both indoor activities and outdoor adventures designed to foster a connection to nature, encourage stewardship, and provide an introduction to group learning settings.

Advanced registration is encouraged! Drop-ins are welcome if space is available. ($15/week for members, $20/week nonmembers)

Felted Bird Crafting Workshop

Price: $45, Member Price: $40

Hand- stitch a bright Cardinal for your tree or window with local professional crafter Heidi Boyd. In this workshop you will cut pattern pieces out of wool felt and learn how to sew them into a charming flying bird. You’ll also take home the supplies to make the companion Bluejay and Goldfinch. When finished each bird measures 5″ L, 3.5” H, and 1” W. All levels of experience are welcome!

Children 8+ are welcome but must have an adult chaperone.

There will also be a trunk show from Heidi’s Brunswick studio. You can purchase other kits and projects! These make GREAT gifts! Kits will be available for sale in the Nature Store as well after the event through Holiday 2019!

Heidi Boyd is the author of 15 craft books and licenses her artwork for fabric and machine embroidery. Her crafts have been featured in national publications and she’s appeared on HGTV. Heidi’s motto is “sewing smiles one stitch at a time”.
